Position summary
The responsibility of the Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) is to enforce parking regulations, provide traffic direction, and support day to day operations of parking service delivery. The PEO also is responsible to assist clients in a variety of ways using the highest standards of customer service, including providing information and wayfinding, and assistance in the use of parking equipment.
Duties
- Enforces Parking and Traffic Regulations by issuing parking violation warnings and citations as required, occasionally arranging for cars to be towed
- Acts as a campus community ambassador by providing information and directions
- Assists motorists in finding appropriate parking and using parking equipment
- Places traffic control devices as required
- Directs traffic as required
- Aids motorists in a variety of situations
- Performs minor repairs/maintenance to/of parking equipment as required from time to time
- Collects cash from dispensers/meters
- Boosts vehicles when required
- Takes digital photos of parking related subject matter
- Compiles occurrence reports and other paperwork as required
- Reports incidents in and damages to parking structures
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Grade 12 equivalent. Related industry experience desirable, cash handling, customer service experience preferred.
- Previous exposure to parking technology is preferred.
- Must have a valid non-graduated Class 5 Drivers License with a clean abstract.
- Previous exposure to parking technology or business is preferred.
